For corporate event planners, organizing a family-friendly company event

Plan an event employees actually want to attend

The problem isn't your budget or your venue. It's that you're booking entertainment just for kids, but leaving everyone else out.

Balloons aren't just for kids. A balloon artist entertains the whole party the whole time. Kids, teenagers, adults, and grandparents can't resist watching how 4-foot balloon noodles can turn into Mickey Mouse.

years of experience

"It was fine" was not your goal

You've been there. You plan the company family event. You book the bounce house, the face painter, maybe a balloon twister who cranks out basic poodles in 90 seconds.

The event happens. Kids play for 20 minutes. Parents stand around making small talk. Older kids are on their phones. Then, some families start leaving early.

The post-event survey comes back: "It was fine." "The kids had fun for a bit."

Leadership wanted "something special this year."

You delivered... fine.

Why most corporate events feel identical

Most event organizers choose entertainment designed for one age group—children under 8, leaving others out of the fun. When some people are disengaged, they leave early. When they leave early, your event loses energy.

And here's the bigger problem: Every corporate event planner is probably booking from the same vendor list. The same bounce houses. The same face painters. The same carnival games. Which means every company picnic feels identical. When everything's the same, nothing's memorable.

You could add more standard options (two bounce houses instead of one!), but more of the same is still the same. What you actually need is entertainment that creates a "campfire effect"— the kind where kids drag their parents over, parents gleefully pull out their phones, and even teenagers and grandparents shamelessly participate.

Not all entertainment creates the Campfire Effect

Craft tables? People scatter to individual projects.
DIY stations? Everyone disperses to their own tables.
Even "interactive" can fail if it doesn't create a focal point.

What you specifically need is: Interactive entertainment that's visual enough to attract a crowd, skilled enough to hold attention, customizable enough to feel personal, and fast enough that people don't lose interest.

That's not just "any interactive entertainment." That's a very specific type of engagement that most standard vendors don't deliver.

Now you can plan the corporate event people don't want to skip

You don't have to settle for entertainment that fragments families into age groups.

You can find entertainment that invites families to gather – like around a warm campfire. They're watching something being created, genuinely curious about what happens next. Parents pull out their phones. Kids drag their friends over. Even grandparents look in awe and wonder.

No permits. No cleanup. No "someone might get hurt" liability anxiety.

Just entertainment that:

  • Works for all ages simultaneously (not just kids under 8)
  • Creates photo-worthy moments families actually want to share
  • Requires zero oversight from your team
  • Runs on your schedule (not the other way around)
  • Families can take home a tangible souvenir
  • Makes your event feel different than every other company picnic

For event organizers ready to stand out

This is for you if:

  • You're planning a corporate family event in the next 3-6 months. And you already know last year's "standard entertainment package" approach isn't going to cut it this time.
  • You believe professional entertainment should make YOUR job easier.
Not create more work for you. You want vendors who show up on time, perform at a high level, and require minimal hand-holding.
  • You're tired of "safe" choices that produce "fine" results.
You want to bring fresh thinking to tired formats—and you want to be recognized for it.
  • Leadership asked you to "make it special this year."
And you know "special" doesn't mean doubling the budget. It means making different choices.
  • You want entertainment that creates organic social proof.
When employees post photos to company Slack or LinkedIn saying "our company knows how to do events right," you didn't have to ask them to do it. They just wanted to.
  • You're building a reputation as the planner with taste, connections, and instincts.
The one people point to when leadership asks "who should handle this?" You're not just "the person who handles events"—you're the person who creates experiences people remember.
Finding what's just right for your event

The Three Bears Approach

Most balloon artists show up with a one-size-fits-all approach. Same designs, same speed, same process—regardless of event size or goals.

I prefer The Three Bears Approach.

Remember Goldilocks? She didn't settle for porridge that was too hot or too cold—she found what was just right. That's exactly how I work with you to customize entertainment for YOUR event.

During our pre-event consultation, we discuss:
- Your guest count and time constraints
- Your goals (maximum volume? showpiece moments? both?)
- Your audience (mostly kids? multigenerational families? adults?)
- Your event flow (continuous entertainment? scheduled blocks?)

Then I customize everything to fit.

  • Need speed? I focus on high-quality designs I can create efficiently—maximizing volume without sacrificing quality.
  • Want wow-factor? I create intricate pieces that generate crowds and photos—guests gather to watch the creation process.
  • Need both? I find the just-right balance—mixing faster designs with strategic showpieces.

This is The Three Bears Approach in action: strategic event planning that adapts to what YOU need, not what's easiest for me.

The System Behind the Magic

Entertainment that flows with your event, not against it

Let me introduce you to what I playfully call The Brave Bear Balloon Bar. Instead of long lines, impatient kids, and rushed designs, I use a request-and-pickup system that manages guest flow, prevents bottlenecks, and lets families enjoy your entire event—not just stand around waiting for balloons.

Here's how it works:

Before event

Custom Themed Menu
I create a menu showing design options (simple to intricate) based on your event theme. You review and approve it. You can share it with your team members beforehand to build excitement.

Pre-Event Consultation
We discuss your crowd size, timeline, and goals—then I adjust my approach accordingly. No surprises.

At the event

Professional Station Setup
I bring my own table, tablecloth, umbrella, menu display, sign-up sheet. Looks intentional, not improvised.

Request & Pickup System

Guests browse the menu, write their request (name, design, colors, age), then leave. They come back in 10-15 minutes to pick up their creation—like placing an order.

No line. No waiting. No chaos.

The result

Smart Prioritization
Kids first (they care most), then teens and adults. Everyone gets what they want.

Guest Flow Management
Families enjoy other activities while balloons are being created. You get organized, professional entertainment that works with your event flow.

This is the difference between "we booked entertainment" and "we partnered with a professional who understand event management." Organized, professional entertainment that works with your event flow, not against it.

About Steamer Lee

10+ years of working with event planners taught me that  balloons can certainly take events up a notch or two. Or three. The fun things about balloons are when I'm crafting a design, I'm entertaining both an audience of one and the whole crowd.

When I’m not making balloons, I work as a B2B marketer for brands with incohesive messaging. My clientele includes the largest YMCA in the country (YMCA San Diego), SEMA (the biggest automotive show in the world), and SaaS brands like Semrush. My marketing approach uses in-depth customer interviews to guide the messaging and marketing strategy. Sometimes I build websites (like this one) and develop sales funnel strategies for clients.

On a personal note, I’ve been married to my wonderful wife for 12 years. I’m an over-caffeinated dad who can barely keep up with my 6-year-old son and a spirited 16-year-old Westie.

10,000+ balloon creations, 10,000+ kids entertained,
10+ years experience.

Since 2014
11+ years of experience

Balloon artistry is a given. Your balloon artist should know how to make balloons.

But what about experience? You also want an artist who knows how to manage guest expectations and the experience of making balloons for 3+ hours straight.

2015-2019
3 days a week at Downtown Disney

Only a handful of balloon artists in Southern California have spent years honing their craft at Downtown Disney. In an environment where you had to deliver the highest quality of service, we entertained resort guests with Disney-themed characters, superheroes, and princesses.

2016-2019
3 years as a balloon artist trainer

If you've seen other balloon artists in Orange County, there's a good chance I helped train them.

"Steamer does a phenomenal job—kids love it, and even adults loved it too."

He was just so easy to connect with. Genuine. Kind. And when he came to the party, we loved having him. We loved the expressions on the kids’ faces as he made the balloons they requested. He did a phenomenal job.

The kids loved it, and even adults loved it too.

Questions you might be asking

Will this really entertain older kids and adults? Even the grandparents?

Yes! Every past client tells me how balloons delight everyone at the party. In fact, it's common for the grandparents to start submitting their own requests for Ariel, and teenagers sheepishly asking for Hello Kitty about an hour into the party.

How do I know your designs will actually be good?

You can always check my work on Instagram. I'm always sharing new designs and trying new things. Past parents consistently mention being "blown away" by what I do, exceeding their expectations.

Will you actually care about our party, or just rush through?

I put a lot of thought into choosing clients who are the right fit. I don't say "yes" to every booking request, even if I'm available. Based on my 11 years of experience, sometimes I say "No." For example, do I have enough margin to fit you in? It could be that the location and timing are too close to another event on the same day, which leads to me rushing in and out of events. I don't want to do that, and you don't deserve that kind of service.

What if we want to extend the time on the day of the event?

If the event's going great and you want me to stay longer, I can extend based on availability. Day-of extensions are $300/hour (or $150 per 30-minute increment), payable immediately via Venmo or Zelle. Just let me know during the event, and if I have the flexibility in my schedule, I'm happy to stay!

How far in advance should we book you?

Popular dates (summer weekends, holiday season) book 2-3 months out. If your event is in the next 4-6 weeks, reach out immediately to check availability.
